The Hellenic Copyright Organization will participate in this important event with an exhibition stand, as well as by organizing events and participation in workshops by HCO representatives and simultaneously making available to the public guides and educational materials aimed mainly at elementary, middle school, high school students, as well as teachers and parents.

In particular, on Friday May 5, in the "ALKI ZEI" hall, from 13.00 - 14.00, there will be an event on "Intellectual property issues and books" and speeches by the HCO representatives. The specific topics that will be developed will be:

  • Creation and Artificial Intelligence: Fundamentals and contemporary issues from intellectual property law
  • Copyright law and book (practical issues)
  • Recent changes in copyright law and new exemptions (teaching, text and data mining, non-commercial works, public lending)

Also, HCO representatives will provide the public with information on the important work and role played by OPI as the competent body of the Ministry of Culture and Sports for intellectual property issues, regarding the operation of the protection system for creators and beneficiaries of related rights and monitoring but also contributing to developments at the EU and international level, contributing to the promotion of respect for intellectual property as well as creativity and culture.

This year, American literature is honored at the Thessaloniki International Book Fair. The main aim of this tribute is to highlight contemporary literary voices through invitations from authors and publishing houses, university publications and personalities of culture and letters.

The Thessaloniki International Book Fair is organized by the Hellenic Cultural Foundation in collaboration with Greek publishers, HELEXPO, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
