The first EU-wide interactive website dedicated to young people and Intellectual Property is launched today. The Ideas Powered site ( is supported by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the EU’s largest intellectual property agency, acting through the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.


The Hellenic Copyright Organization, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs, organizes a PanHellenic Contest with the title "Copyright" in order to celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day (IP DAY), 26th April 2015.


The EU Observatory announced that the Orphan Works database is available online. The database can be accessed here.

The Orphan Works database provides public access to information about orphan works that are contained in the collections of publicly accessible libraries, educational establishments and museums, as well as archives, film or audio heritage institutions and public-service broadcasting organisations established in the Member States.


The European Union signed today in Geneva the Marrakesh Treaty. The Treaty will facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled. It had been negotiated in the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Negotiations concluded on 28 June 2013 in Marrakesh. Since then fifty-one states have signed the Treaty, including four EU Member States.


Each year, on the 26th of April the Intellectual Property day is celebrated with regard to promoting the dialogue about the role of intellectual property in the development of innovation and creativity.
