HCO - WIPO Memorandum of Understanding on alternative dispute resolution in intellectual property matters

The Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on 14 December 2022 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The HCO and WIPO agree to cooperate on issues such as raising public awareness of ADR procedures in Greece. In addition, WIPO may offer, on a case-by-case basis, the use of WIPO's case management services and the use of the eADR online case management tool. Under the MoU, the HCO will implement various awareness and training activities regarding ADR.
EUIPO - European Commission collaboration on the study "Enforcement of intellectual property rights in the EU: results at the EU borders and in the EU internal market, 2021".

The study "EU enforcement of intellectual property rights: results at the EU border and in the EU internal market, 2021" has been produced from data on arrests at the EU border reported by the customs authorities of all Member States, as well as data on arrests within the internal market reported by the enforcement authorities of the Member States.

EUIPO and Hellenic Industrial Property Organization (OBI) Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Enforcement

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in collaboration with the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization, the competent body in Greece for the granting of patents and the registration of trademarks and designs, organized a seminar on December 1, 2022 on the enforcement of intellectual property rights (IPR).
The Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) was represented by Ms. Eva Moustaka, Jurist HCO, who presented the process of reporting online infringements of intellectual property rights and deleting websites of online stores dealing in illegal goods.
3rd educational visit of the HCO to the 2nd Experimental High School of Athens

On Wednesday, November 23 2022, the HCO made the third scheduled visit to the 2nd Experimental High School of Athens for the school year 2022-2023.
During the one-hour visit, HCO representative, Ms. Maria G. Sinanidou, lawyer, scientific associate of the HCO, spoke to the students of the 3rd grade of the high school about the basic principles of copyright, the meaning and importance of respecting copyright and avoiding actions that infringe such rights, with emphasis on the digital environment.

The law 4996/2022 of the Ministry of Culture and Sports entitled: "Determination of rules on the exercise of copyright and related rights applicable to certain online broadcasters' transmissions and retransmissions of television and radio programmes, maintaining a high level of protection of copyright and related rights in the digital single market and the right of public lending and reproduction of additional copies by non-profit libraries or archives; Amendment of Law No. 2121/1993 and Law No. 4481/2017 - Incorporation of Directives (EU) 2019/789, (EU) 2019/790 and 2006/115/EC".
