The HCO’s educational programme “Copyright and Related Rights” received the approval of the Ministry of Education for the current school year. The programme is addressed to pupils of Elementary Schools for the school year 2018-2019.
Teachers who decide to implement the programme can include it in the programmes of School Activities of First Degree Education. Alternatively, for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the primary school the programme can be implemented in the Flexible Zone, while for the 5th and 6th grades, it can be taught in the framework of related knowledge objects and/or interdisciplinary approach.
The educational programme “Copyright and Related Rights” was created and developed by the HCO in cooperation with a group of teachers. It has the support of the European Union which, last year, funded its promotion throughout Greece and the creation of the material that is mentioned below. The programme and HCO’s policy have also been presented at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
In order to support the program, the HCO has launched the website www.copyrightschool.gr. The website contains video games, guides, faq, comic book, word search, puzzles, posters, etc. The material is addressed to secondary education too. In the website, one can also find the animated short film with the title “Orpheus creating…” that was produced specifically for the educational programme.
The HCO can send printed material to teachers, upon request, for use in the classroom (comic books, handbooks for teachers and pupils, stickers and posters).
